Amy Ann Sponder and Adam Lee Schmidt of Le Mars exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Gary Landsness officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Larry and Kathy Sponder of Le Mars and Russell and Donna Schmidt of rural Ireton.

Organist was Kay Koch and lector was Paula Kommes, both of Le Mars.

Maids of honor were the bride's younger sisters, Lindsey Sponder and Katie Sponder of Le Mars. Bridesmaids were Carrie Brownmiller of Le Mars, cousin of the bridegroom, Rebecca Morehead of Des Moines, Aimee Milton of Hinton and Jeana Ramker of Greene.

The bride's personal attendants were Amy Schmidt of Sioux Center, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Kari Wiltgen of Le Mars, future sister-in-law of the bridegroom.

Serving as best men were the bridegroom's twin brother, Andy Schmidt of Le Mars and his older brother, Jon Schmidt of Sioux Center. Groomsmens were Todd Brownmiller of Le Mars, cousin of the bridegroom, Austin Koopmans of Sioux Falls, S.D., John Beitelspacher of Minneapolis, Minn., and Aaron Nielsen of Davenport.

Seating the wedding guests were Casey Westergard of Ireton, Justin Bunkers of Granville, Alisha Ruhland of Spencer and Holly Sitzmann of Sioux City.

The wedding reception and dance were held at the Le Mars Convention Center lower level following the ceremony.

Amy is employed with Meyer Brother Funeral Homes in Sioux City. Adam is employed with Agriliance in Le Mars. The couple is at home in Le Mars.
