Tab Hodge and Lori Downs of Emporia, Kan., were married Oct. 1, 2005, at the First Congregational Church in Emporia. The Rev. Chad Poland officiated at the afternoon ceremony.

Lori is the daughter of Gale and Debbie Downs of Emporia. Tab is the son of former Merrill resident Larry Hodge, now of Emporia, and his wife, Candy. Tab is the grandson of the late Dutch and Eileen Hodge of Merrill, and the great-nephew of Phillis Wendt of rural Le Mars.

Jaime Downs was her sister's maid of honor; Ty Hodge was his brother's best man.

The bride's other attendants were Kelsey Downs, sister of the bride, Megan Renfro, and Jamie Nava. The groomsmen were Jerry Kraus, Jared Miller, and Andy Linn. 

Skye Hodge, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl, and Anthony Nava was the ring bearer. Sumre Lake and Heather Wisdom were the candlelighters. Ushers were Daryn Bontrager, Glen Hadaway and Mike Kennedy. Mary Melhorn was the organist.

The rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception were held at the American Legion. The couple, who took a wedding trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, live at 534 Sherman in Emporia. 

The bride graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor's degree in communication and business. The bridegroom graduated from Emporia High School. Both work at Birch Telecom in Emporia.
