Mary M. Cook, 91 of Le Mars, formerly of Kingsley, died, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Good Samaritan Village, Brentwood Center in Le Mars.
Mary was born Aug. 29, 1914, in Kingsley, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Madden) Dunne. She grew up in the Kingsley area, graduating from Kingsley High School in 1934. In 1938, she married James Glenn Cook. After their marriage they farmed for many years in the Kingsley area.
Mary resided for the last few years in Le Mars at the Good Samaritan Village, Brentwood Center.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Klein and her husband, Mike, and Janice Schorg and her husband, Dennis, and one son, John Cook and his wife, Irene all of Remsen; eight grandchildren, Rick and Mary Beth Schorg, Michael Schorg, Phillip Schorg, Daniel and Susan Schorg and Suzanne Schorg, Matthew Klein, Anna Klein and Amy Klein; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Glenn Cook; a son, James Lewis Cook; a grandson, Patrick Schorg; a granddaughter, Anita Gruhn; and four brothers, Bill, Philip, Donald and Jack Dunne, and one sister, Dorothy Flynn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Thomas J. Topf officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Kingsley. Visitation begins after 2 p.m. today (Thursday), with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7 p.m., all at the Rohde ~ Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.
