Fernando Hernandez, 29, of Sioux City, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at his home.
Fernando Hernandez was born Feb. 18, 1976, to Vicente and Rafaela (Covarrubias) Hernandez at Cahuazaz, Hidalgo, Mexico. He graduated from high school in Mexico.
As a young man, Fernando immigrated to the United States, first to Texas than to Iowa. Living in Sioux City, he worked in the meat packing industry for several years. For the last year, he had worked for the Tyson Foods in Dakota City, Neb.
He loved his children dearly. He enjoyed music and detailing his truck.
Fernando was a happy person who smiled constantly.
Survivors include his wife Landra Hernandez of Sioux City; his children, Nichole Hernandez of Sioux City, Jazmin Hernandez and Vanessa Hernandez of Aurora, Colo., Adrian Watkins of South Sioux City, Neb., twin sons, Fernando Jr. and Raziel Hernandez of Sioux City; his parents, Vicente and Rafaela (Covarrubias) Hernandez of Mexico; a sister, Dalila Hernandez of Mexico; five brothers, Rafael, Jose Luis, Oscar, Alonso, and Vicente Hernandez, all of Mexico; father-in-law, Randy Boetger of Remsen; and step-parents, Tiereny and Jerry Morton and family of Calumet.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitations will be after 5 p.m. today (Wednesday) followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service.
