Robert J. "Bob" Wells, 62, of Reno, Nev., and formerly of Le Mars, died Sunday, Sept.. 25, 2005, at West Palm Beach, Fla.
Robert J. Wells was born April 4, 1943, in Le Mars, the son of Harry "Mike" and Frances (Marx) Wells. Bob graduated from Gehlen High School in 1961. He worked in the family business until moving to Reno, Nev., in 1967. Bob had worked as a welder for several years and also operated a auto salvage business. For the last several years Bob owned and operated a home repair business called Mr. Fix-It.
Bob always had a passion for racing cars. He enjoyed following his brother's racing career. He also had a very big heart for animals, collecting strays.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Wells of Le Mars; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Marilyn Wells of Le Mars; three nephews, Mike and his wife, Kristin Wells of Cedar Falls, Brian and his wife, Wendy of Houston, Texas, and Neal and his wife, Karen of Portland, Ore.; several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Harry "Mike" Wells in February 1998.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
