Jama Gail Hemme and Jay Victor Christopherson were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 2005 at the lake home of Terry and Madelyn Taggart, rural Vermillion, S.D. The Rev. David Hussey officiated.

Parents of the couple are Helena and Shayne McDougall of Le Mars and the late David Hemme, and David and MaryLou Christopherson, Vermillion, S.D. Grandparents are Henry and Marietta Mulder, Norman and Janice Hemme, Doug and Vonice McDougall and Maxine Millette.

Maid of honor was Brandi Deurmier with Tiffani Edmonds, Jackie Barber, Heather Perdue and Kari Langel as bridesmaids. Bell Ringer was Shelby Christopherson.

Best man was Dan Hanson with Jon Moser, Chad Christopherson, Wade Christopherson and Bryce Hemme as groomsmen.

Hunter and Cole Christopherson were the maid of honor escorts.

Kevin Bliss, Chad Brunick, Andy Nelson and John Stewart seated the wedding guests.

Jama graduated from Le Mars Community High School and University of South Dakota and is employed at USD as an admissions counselor. Jay graduated from Vermillion High School and is employed as a plumber for Barry's Plumbing. The couple is at home in Vermillion.
