Cathy Bailey and Kent Vande Weerd of Le Mars announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Cathy is the daughter of Phil and Millie Rensink of Ireton. Kent is the son of Carl and Deb Vande Weerd of Des Moines and Linda and Gary Kramer of Minneapolis, Minn.

The couple is planning an Aug. 27, 2005, wedding during intermission at Park Jefferson Speedway during the races. A dance will follow at the Park Jefferson Speedway Bar after the races.

Cathy is employed at Pella. Kent is employed at Schuster's and is also a flagman at Park Jefferson Speedway.
