Kari Ann Langel and Bryce David Hemme of Iowa City, announce their engagement and approaching marriage which is planned for Sept. 24, 2005, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. The reception will follow at the Le Mars Convention Center, upper level.

Parents of the couple are Dan and Jenni Langel of Le Mars, and Shayne and Helena McDougall of Le Mars, and the late David Hemme.

Kari is a 2001 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School and is currently a student in the diagnostic ultrasound program at the University of Iowa. She will receive her degree in radiation sciences in March 2006.

Bryce is a 2001 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and received a degree in management information systems from the U of I in 2005. He is currently employed at the Principal Financial Group as an information technology systems developer.
