Ron and JoEllen Cronin of Le Mars announce the engagement of their son, Michael Cronin of Le Mars, to Glenda Shoulders, daughter of Glen Dirks of Dakota City, Neb.

The couple is planning an Aug. 20, 2005, wedding.

Michael is employed with Sara Lee and Glenda is employed with Kraft.
