Supervisors approves Three Wishes Contract

Tuesday, July 12, 2005

Plymouth County Supervisor Chairman Gordon Greene signed a contract allowing NBC's reality show Three Wishes to come and film the Le Mars Courthouse.

Board member John Schneider stated the parts of the contract were very beneficial to Le Mars.

"They're going to leave the place as they found it and indemnify us for injuries," Schneider said.

Schneider did voice his concerns about the releasing the rights of any footage or photos to NBC to "use in any way they see fit."

"Someday, you'll see a movie ten years from now and there will be the Plymouth County Courthouse in the background," Schneider said.

Greene said Plymouth County Attorney Darin Raymond did not have a problem with the contract.

"I think this is a tremendous opportunity for our town," said Schneider. "I think we need to be as supportive as possible."

"How often do we get the courthouse on national television?" asked Board Member Paul Sitzmann.
