Carl and Joann Johnson of Ireton announce the engagement of their daughter, Katy Lynn Johnson, to Matthew Parker Ridge, son of James and Gayle Ridge of Davenport.

Katy is a 2003 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She is employed as an elementary music teacher in Clarinda.

Her fiancée is a 2005 graduate of Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina.

The couple is planning a July 2, 2005 wedding.
