SIOUX CITY -- Maurice Harris, 86, of Sioux City, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Sioux City.
Maurice Harris was born Dec. 2, 1918,, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of John and Nellie Mae (McKenzie) Harris. He lived in Oklahoma City until the age of five, when the family moved to Sioux City, where he has since resided. He attended Sioux City Public Schools.
On Aug. 9, 1941, Maurice was united in marriage to Anna Bilunas in Sioux City.
He was employed for 25 years with Armour's until the plant closed in 1963. He also worked for Iowa Beef Processors as an employment manager for 14 years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Anna of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Steve and Pat Harris of Sioux City; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kris and Todd Savary of Sergeant Bluff and Deb and Brett Susemihl of Le Mars; and three great-grandchildren, Keagan Savary and Kaitlin Savary of Sergeant Bluff, and Jade Susemihl of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Harris.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
