Dean Ray Lubben, 49, of Johnston, Colo., and a Le Mars area native, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at his home in Johnstown, Colo.
Dean Ray Lubben was born born April 11, 1956, in Le Mars, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Willer) Lubben. Dean grew up on a farm near Brunsville, and graduated from Le Mars Community High School. He attended and graduated from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, with a degree in electronics and computer programming.
He married Barbara Rozell on Sept. 4, 1982, in Le Mars. While living in Sioux Falls, S.D., they adopted their beloved daughter, Alisha Jeannine who is now 14 years old. They moved to Colorado in 1997 where he was employed at Swift & Company in Greeley, Colo.,as a systems analyst.
Dean enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, computers, playing cards, and sports.
Dean was a past member of Christ Lutheran Church, rural Le Mars, and member of Luther League. Currently he was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lubben and daughter, Alisha Lubben of Johnstown, Colo.; his parents Raymond and Dorothy Lubben of Brunsville; a brother Darwin and his wife, Judy, Lubben of rural Le Mars; five nieces and nephews, a great-niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held today (Monday) at 5:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 21st. Ave., Greeley. Inurnment will be at a later date.
