SIOUX CITY -- David O. Sardeson, 75, of Sioux City, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Indian Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Sioux City, following a brief illness.
David O. Sardeson was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Sioux City, the son of Richard and Constance (Carlson) Sardeson. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools, graduating from Central High School in 1949.
On Jan. 21, 1950, he married Mary Leary in Sioux City. He lived in the Denver area for 17 years and moved back to Sioux City in 1994. He retired from Jefferson County Schools in Colorado in 1994.
He enjoyed model trains.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Sioux City; two daughters, Shirley Gassman and her husband, Rick, of Littleton, Colo., and Cathy Donlin and her husband, James, of Escondido, Calif.; one son, Arnold Sardeson of Lake Park; one brother, William Sardeson of Florida; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol Cunningham; and two brothers, Arnold and Richard Sardeson.
The body was cremated and there will be a family gathering at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at 26342 Imperial Road, Hinton. The Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home of Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.
