The engagement and approaching marriage of Megan Elizabeth Kaska and Jonathan Doyle Spooner of Waterloo is announced by their parents, Charles and Cathy Kaska of Fairfield and Doyle and Susan Spooner of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Pierson.

The couple is planning a 2 p.m. ceremony on May 28, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield. The reception dinner and dance will follow at the Best Western in Fairfield.

Megan is a graduate of Central College in Pella with a degree in business. She is currently enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa and will receive a teaching degree in December.

Jonathan is a graduate of Iowa State University with degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed with John Deere Company in Waterloo.
