Amanda E. Litterick, 101, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Sioux City.
Amanda was born March 31, 1904, in Sioux City, the daughter of Nels and Malena (Eide) Carlson. She lived in Sioux City until Jan. 18, 1922, when she married John Litterick in Sioux City. The couple lived on the same farm north of Sioux City for over 50 years. Several years after the death of her husband, Amanda moved to Hinton where she lived for 18 years until her health began to fail.
Amanda was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church and a former member of the Hinton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marianne Litterick of Hinton; a son-in-law, Ray Early of Gladstone, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lynne Splittorff and her husband, Paul, of Blue Springs, Mo.; three grandsons, Keith Litterick and his wife, Patricia, of Middleburg, Fla., Gary Early and his wife, Teri, of Allen, Texas, and Gregg Early; a brother-in-law, Gerald Wiig of Lakewood, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Gloria Carlson of Sioux City; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on Dec. 15, 1967; a son, Robert; a daughter, Patricia; one great-grandson; five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hinton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Gutzmer officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation was Friday from 3 to 8 p.m, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.
Pallbearers were Paul Bock, Danny Beck, Delbert Johns, Jack Spies, Denny Molden and Don Most.
