Linda D. Pratt, 54, of Kingsley, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 20, 2005, at her residence in Kingsley.
LInda was born July 26, 1950, in Sioux City, the daughter of Larry and Helen (Paling) Johnson. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City at mid-term in 1968. On Feb. 1, 1969, she married Garold Pratt. After their marriage, Linda and Garold lived on a farm north of Kingsley until 1996, when they moved to Kingsley. Garold died Nov. 28, 1996.
Linda, a lifetime homemaker, was a member of the Kingsley United Metodist Church, Eastern Star and president of the Eklhorn Ladies' Club. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society Club. She loved making crafts and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and her dog, Blaze.
Linda is survived by two daughters, Stacy Pratt of Le Mars and Jennifer Mapes of Le Mars, and two sons, Gary Pratt of California and Travis Pratt of Kingsley; two grandchildren, Andrew Pratt and Jeffrey Pratt; her mother, Helen Johnson of Arkansas; her father, Larry Johnson and his wife, Fran, of North Sioux City, S.D.; one sister, Pam Robinson of Texas; one aunt, Dorothy Dickman of Sioux City. Also, she is survived by a special aunt, Cherry Cliff of Kingsley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garold.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Kingsley with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation begins after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
