Three LCS orchestra groups perform

Friday, March 11, 2005
The winter concert of the Le Mars Community Middle School and High School Orchestras will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, in the middle school auditorium.

Admission to the concert will be a freewill donation, as the concert will serve as a fundraiser for the high school students who are working toward a trip to Boston in June, according to director Ted Hallberg.

The concert will begin with a performance by Cordas da Camara, the select string ensemble of the high school. They will be performing "Romanian Dances" by Bela Bartok, "Fugue in g minor" by J.S. Bach and "William Tell Finale" by Rossini.

The Middle School strings will perform "Early American Suite," "The Addams Family Theme," "Stand by Me" and "Slovakian Dances."

The High School Strings will perform Mozart's "Musical Joke" featuring Rachel Schultz and Morgan Harden on French Horn. This piece, written by W. A Mozart, is a parody of things that a village orchestra does wrong. They will end the concert with the "Saint Paul Suite" by Gustav Holst.
