Patrick and Kathryn Murphy of Le Mars announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Mia Rose Murphy, to Gabriel Tardive Jr., son of Gabriel and Dolores Tardive of Netcong, N.J.

The couple will be married in a 2 p.m. ceremony on July 30, 2005, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. The reception will follow at the Le Mars Convention Center.

Mia graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1996. In 2000, she received her bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2002, she obtained a master of science degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mia is employed as a speech-language pathologist with Omaha Public Schools.

Gabriel graduated from Roxbury High School in Succasunna, N.J., in 1996. In 2001, he obtained a bachelor of science degree in education from UNL. He is employed as a physical education teacher and coach at Lewis Central Community Schools in Council Bluffs.
