Darwin and Alaska Berkenpas of Le Mars and Bruce and Carol Hofmeyer of Orange City announce the engagement of their children, Ashley Berkenpas and Eric Hofmeyer.

The couple is planning a July 9, 2005, wedding at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The reception will follow at the Brunsville Legion Hall.

Ashley graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 2004 and is employed with the Le Mars Daily Sentinel.

Eric is a 2003 graduate of MOC-Floyd Valley Hospital School. He is employed with Midwest Farmers Coop in Alton.
