Patricia Kanago, 79, of Le Mars, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Patricia M. Kanago was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Le Mars, the daughter of Anna H. (Kruse) and Melvin R. Kanago. She attended grade school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1943. Pat then attended Westmar College in Le Mars and Drake University in Des Moines.
Following her education, Pat returned to Le Mars and began her career in banking at the First National Bank. She worked there for several years prior to joining the staff at First Federal Savings and Loan in Sioux City. She retired in September 1990, having served as their personnel officer. In 1999, Pat moved to Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars. She later moved to Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen in 2001.
Pat was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars. She was also a member of the Le Mars Lions Club where she held various offices.
Survivors include her brother, Dennis R. Kanago and his wife, Alma of Le Mars; a niece, Sue Baker and her husband, David of Rockville, Ind.; two cousins Jim Kanago and his wife, Pat of Omaha, Neb., and Lorrie Rome and her husband, Charles of Parkville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an uncle P.L. Kanago.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. G. Dean Goebel of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and will continue until service time.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack McDougal and the Le Mars Lions Club.
