Dennis Niehus, 54, of Remsen, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Pikes Peak Hospice at Colorado Springs, Colo., following a brief illness.
Dennis Niehus was born Jan. 28, 1950, in Le Mars, the son of Edmund and Beatrice (Hagen) Niehus.
Dennis died after a brief illness. He was raised in the Remsen area and received his education at St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen from which he graduated in 1968. He then attended Iowa State University graduating with a business degree in 1972. He was self employed in promotional advertising in Iowa for T.V. and radio. He had promoted the T.V. program on hunting and fishing called "Outdoor Encounters."
Survivors include one son and his wife, Nathan and Candice Albrecht and one granddaughter, Elsie Albrecht, all of Salem, Ore.; two brothers, Larry and his wife, Jana, of Sergeant Bluff, and Paul of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Marie, in infancy.
Funeral services were at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Remsen.
Visitation was after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m. at the Fisch Funeral Home.
