Megan Swanson of Iowa City and Andy Thiel of Peoria, Ill., were united in marriage Aug. 14, 2004, in a 4 p.m. double ring ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. The Rev. Stephen Ude officiated.

Parents are Mark and Marla Swanson of Dayton, and Daniel and Florence Thiel of Le Mars.

Scripture readers were Katie Loutsch, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mary Sevendal.

Lois Theesfield presided at the organ and accompanied Leah and Gretchen Theesfield, violinists; and Sarah and Nick Britton, vocalists.

Maid of honor was Michelle Tillman of Omaha, with Brooke Herman of Des Moines, Sarah Britton of Ames and Micki Ernst of Minneapolis as bridesmaids. Flowergirls were Olivia Burns, Alexandria, Minn., and Kadin Swensen, Las Alamos, N.M., cousins of the bride.

Matthew Thiel of Omaha was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Chris Thiel and Mitch Thiel, both of Omaha, brothers of the bridegroom, and Matthew Swanson, Omaha, brother of the bride. Zach Spieler of Le Mars, cousin of the bridegroom, was ringbearer.

Derrick Loutsch, cousin of the bridegroom, Wes Adams, Nathan Waldo and Dave Ricketts, seated the guests.

The reception, dinner and dance followed the ceremony at Quality Inn and Suites in Ames.

Megan is a 1998 graduate of Ogden High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently a student at the University of Iowa's School of Law and will graduate in May 2005.

Andy is a 1997 graduate of Le Mars Gehlen Catholic High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. He is currently an IT Analyst II for Caterpillar, Inc, Peoria.

The couple spent a week in Maui following their wedding and are at home at 800 West Benton, Apt. A313, Iowa City, Iowa 52246.
