HONOKAA, Hawaii -- Mrs. Mary "Molly" Theresa Embernate, 60, of Honokaa, Hawaii, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital.
The former Mary Theresa Gunther was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Le Mars, the daughter of Claire and Mary Frances (Marx) Gunther.
She was a retired teacher for Honokaa Elementary School and most recently was an employee of Wal-Mart in Hilo. She was also a member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, past member of the Hawaii State Teachers Association, and was a scout leader for the Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin "Ben" Embernate of Honokaa, Hawaii; two daughters, Malia Embernate and Mele Embernate, both of Honokaa, Hawaii; two stepdaughters, Bennylynn and Tim Embernate-Dias of Colo., and Tanya and Vaughn Chong of Honolulu, Hawaii; her mother, Mary Frances Gunther of Le Mars; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Claire and Beverly Gunther of Missouri, John and Janet Gunther of Missouri, Philip and Judy Gunther of Minnesota, James and Sue Gunther of Le Mars, Mark and Barb Gunther of Muscatine, and Douglas and Connie Gunther of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claire.
Friends may call at the Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa on Friday, Nov. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., where a Mass will be held at 11 a.m., followed by burial at the church cemetery. The family requests that casual attire be worn to the services.
