ADRIAN, Minn. -- Celestinus "Sally" Wolf, 88, of Adrian, Minn., and a Remsen native, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center in Adrian.
Mr. Wolf was born May 19, 1916, in Remsen, the son of John and Mary (Scheitler) Wolf. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Le Mars.
On Jan. 15, 1936, he married Mercedes Probst at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. After their marriage, the couple farmed in St. Kilian, Minn., and at Oyens. They moved to the farm north of Adrian, Minn., in 1957. In 1971, they moved to Adrian.
Sally worked as a driver at the Worthington Rendering Plant for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Al Kosse of Marcus; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lyle and Mary Wolf of Spirit Lake and John and Donna Wolf of North Mankato, MInn.; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mercedes Wolf on Feb. 15, 2001; and four brothers, Julius, Corneilius, Joseph and Elmer Wolf.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian, with the Rev. Gerald Kosse officiating. Burial was in St. Adrian Cemetery in Adrian. Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian.
