Laina Toliver of Sac City and Matthew Edwards of Davenport were married May 29, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church in Sac City.

Their parents are Doug and Kim Toliver of Sac City and Bill and Mary Edwards of Davenport.

Maids of honor were Jamie Tolliver of Sac City, sister of the bride, and Jenny Laursen of Plymouth, Minn. Ali Priestly and Emily Burgers, both of West Des Moines, Angie Monthei of Houston, Texas, Stephanie Scloemer of Davenport, and Amy Duscher of Minneapolis, were bridesmaids. Kellie Toliver of Kingsley, cousin of the bride, was flowergirl.

The bride's personal attendants were Katie DeVries of Okoboji and Emily Martin of Yankton, S.D.

Best men were Michael Edwards of Columbia, S.C., brother of the bridegroom, and Dan Stark of St. Louis, Mo. Groomsmen were Mark Edwards, Davenport, brother of the bridegroom; Derek Rees of West Des Moines; Erik Roll of Iowa City; Blake Schaeffer of Davenport and Scott Davis of Iowa City. Ringbearer was Mac Jarvis, cousin of the bride.

Seating the guests were Phil Parker of Indianola, Jim Swanson, of Iowa City and Joe Balvanz of Indianola.

Both Laina and Matthew are recent graduates of Simpson College and they live in Des Moines. Laina is employed by Simpson College as an admissions counselor and Matt is a financial aid administrator with Vatterrott College and a graduate student at Iowa State University.

The couple plan to travel to Mexico on their first anniversary.
