Shannon Rollins and Sam Gerhardt of Vermillion, S.D., were united in marriage Aug. 6, 2004, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. The 5 p.m. double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jim Tigges.

Parents are Mike and Kathy Rollins of Le Mars; Barb Kingsburg of Vermillion and Mark Gerhardt of Sioux Falls., S.D.

Nuptial music was provided by Steph Kelly as soloist, accompanied by Mary Ann List at the organ.

The bride's personal attendants were Shannon Langel of Akron and Kerissa Feuerstein of Coralville.

Katie Anthony of Des Moines was maid of honor with Trista Rollins of Le Mars, Kristina Rollins of Le Mars, Jenni Ortmann of Vermillion, Lindsey Ortmann of Ames and Kayla Ruether of Des Moines as bridesmaids. Flowergirl was Ellie Ludwigs of Le Mars.

Serving as best man were Eliot Armstrong of Boulder, Colo., with James Lucus Gerhardt as honorary best man. Groomsmen were Shane Kingsbury of Sioux Falls; Ryan Walsh of Vermillion; Adam Fox of Aurora, Colo.. and Guthrie Gray-Lobe of Santa Fe, N.M. Ringbearer was Wylie Ludwigs of Le Mars.

Tom and Beau Ortmann of Le Mars and Mark and Dustin Heeren of Akron seated the guests.

Dinner was served at the Brunsville American Legion Club at 7 p.m. The reception and dance began at 8 p.m. at the club, with music by Mr. Tunes.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Gehlen Catholic High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of South Dakota with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. She is working on her master's degree in public administration at USD, and will graduate in May 2006. She is employed by the USD Financial Aid office.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Vermillion High School and is currently working on his bachelor of science degree in physics at USD with plans to attend graduate school for engineering, both at USD. He is employed by Aramark Food Services and the student counseling Center at USD.

Following their wedding the couple spent a week in Colorado. They are at home in Vermillion.
