Regina Roeser, 93, a Le Mars native and lifelong resident, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at the Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.
The former Regina J. Van Asma was born March 28, 1911, in Le Mars, the daughter of Louis and Martha (Smid) Van Asma. She was raised in Le Mars and graduated in 1929 from St. Joseph's Catholic School.
Regina married Lawrence M. Roeser on January 13, 1953 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. The couple lived their entire married life in Le Mars. Over the years, Regina had been employed with several Le Mars businesses including Meis Grocery, O.P. Skagg's, Clara Owens and Tots and Teens. Lawrence died on May 1, 1996.
Regina was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Susemihl of Le Mars; a sister-in-law Marie Britt of Lawton; a brother-in-law and his wife, Vincent and Joyce Roeser of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; a sister and her husband, Jen and Louis Hoffman; a brother and his wife, Lee and Roslyn Van Asma; and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Susemihl and Vernon "Bud" Britt.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. James Tigges presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Friends may call anytime after 3 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Parish rosary will be at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
