Ron Allen Bigley, 20, of Le Mars, died early Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at his home in Le Mars of injuries sustained in a propane gas explosion.
Ron Allen Bigley was born Aug. 10, 1984, at Waterloo, the son of Ron and Anita Cadwell Bigley. He was raised in Denison and attended the Denison Public Schools. While residing in Denison, he attended the Assembly of God Church.
He then lived in Boston, Mass., for three years before moving to Le Mars in 1988 where he had since resided.
In his spare time, Ron enjoyed drawing, music, playing video games and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ron and Karen Bigley of Brockton, Mass.; his mother and stepfather, Anita and Todd LeStrange of Le Mars; two brothers, Logan and Justice Bigley of Le Mars; a half-brother, Austin Book of Storm Lake; a half-sister and godchild, Alicia Leigh Bigley of Brockton, Mass; a step-sister, Christine Semler of Brockton, Mass.; paternal grandmother, Connie Meyer of Denison; maternal grandparents, Vyrl and Edith Cadwell of Manilla; step-grandparents, Jim LeStrange of Spencer, and Kathy LeStrange of Jackson, Minn., and Bill and Linda Semler of Brockton, Mass; and many uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Erwin Meyer.
Graveside memorial services and inurnment were held at noon today (Monday), at Oakland Cemetery in Denison with the Rev. John Kult officiating. At the end of the service, those attending were invited to participate in a balloon release in memory of Ron.
The Pfannebecker Funeral Home of Denison was in charge of arrangements.
