Angie Smid and Lee Galles of Remsen were united in marriage May 8, 2004, at St. Mary's Church in Remsen. The Rev. Tim Johnson officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Ron and Sue Theisen of Remsen and the late Tim Smid. Parents of the bridegroom are Ron and Connie Galles of Remsen.

The wedding date was the birthday of the bride's father, Tim Smid.

Maid of honor was Sadie Smid of Des Moines, sister of the bride. Flowergirl was the bride's niece, Torey Smid of Des Moines.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Rasmussen of Kansas City; Angela Sunderman of California; Nicole Boroughs of Council Bluffs; Claire Bertrand of Kansas City; Kim Phillips of Remsen, sister of the bridegroom and Kate Betsworth of Omaha, sister of the bridegroom.

Junior bridesmaids were Samantha Theisen and Lydia Theisen, sisters of the bride.

Mark Galles of Remsen, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, with Xavier Galles of Blencoe, son of the couple, as ringbearer.

Groomsmen were Tim Smid of Arkansas, brother of the bride; Josh Fiedler of Sioux Falls; Aaron Weiler, Chris Frederes and Bart Ruba.

Seating the guests were Jeremy Bunkers, cousin of the bride, and Travis Mark of Illinois.

The wedding reception was held at the Avalon Ballroom in Remsen following the wedding.

The bride is a graduate of Iowa Western Community College and her husband graduated from Northwest Iowa Community College.

Following their wedding trip to Kansas City, the couple is a home in Blencoe.
