Roger D. Masuen, 63, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at The Abbey of Le Mars, following a brief illness.

Roger was born March 7, 1941, at Oyens, the son of Lawrence and Edith (Trafford) Masuen. He had been a resident at The Abbey for the past 10 years.

Roger enjoyed fishing, camping, and loved outings at McDonald's. A smile and a handshake were his usual greeting.

He is survived by a sister and her husband, Pat and Jerry Ruba of Sergeant Bluff; a brother and his wife, Denny and Pat Masuen of Le Mars; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.

His parents preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. James Tigges presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.

Friends may call anytime after 3 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. A parish rosary will be at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ted Masuen, Mel Masuen, Kenny Kunkel, Scott Ruba, Ben Stout, and Russ Hobson.
