WAUKEE -- Joseph W. Powell, 84, of Waukee, and formerly of Le Mars, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Joe was born June 27, 1920, at Casey, Iowa, to Thomas and Beryl Timmons Powell. He married Maxine Little on April 25, 1943.

He was a member of the Waukee United Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine, daughter Nancy, son Bill and grandson Christopher.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
