The Le Mars Subway franchise has been purchased from Jan Skram and the late Tom Skram by Gene and Marie Friederich of Le Mars and Roger and Cyndi Miller of Spirit Lake.

Co-managers Lori Campbell and Kim Pick will continue along with the current staff in serving Subway sandwiches, wraps and salads. The business is located at the junction of Highways 3 and 75.

"We are excited to be able to continue to bring Subway's fresh, delicious products to the people of Le Mars," said Gene Friederich.

Transfer of the Subway franchise from Jan Skram should be completed in July.

Gene and Marie Friederich are long-time Le Mars residents and currently operate Happy Hang-ups, a custom framing shop on Plymouth Street in Le Mars.

Roger and Cyndi Miller are former Le Mars residents. They moved to Spirit Lake in October 1999 and operate four Subway restaurants in the Iowa Great Lakes area and in Sibley.

The Skrams started the business in 1992. Tom Skram died in October 2003.
