Elizabeth Williams, 97, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

The former Elizabeth C. Wiebersch was born Oct. 14, 1906, in Remsen, the daughter of Frank and Diana (Potthost) Wiebersch. She moved with her family to Le Mars as a child and attended St. Joseph's Parochial School. Elizabeth married William C. Williams on July 13, 1932, at Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Elizabeth had been employed with various businesses in Le Mars, including the B & B Dime Store and Truck Haven. Her husband, William, died in 1968. 

Mrs. Williams was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include five children: Bob Williams and his wife, Pat, of Le Mars, Bill Williams and his wife, Kathy, of Le Mars, La Vonne Matthews and her husband, John, of Apple Valley, Minn., Art Williams and his wife, Betty, of Le Mars, and Ron Williams of Le Mars; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; two children, Noreen Williams in infancy, and Tom Williams; three sisters, Katherine Hickman, Madeline Callfas, and Johanna Lepaup; and two brothers: Fred and Cletus Wiebersch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. James Tigges as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.

Friends may call anytime after 3 p.m. Friday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. A parish rosary will be held at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be six grandchildren: Robert Williams, John and Jason Bonnema, and Steve, Paul and Wes Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be four grandchildren: John and Dave Matthews, and Mike and Mark Williams.
