Two bridge projects will be started this week on U.S. Highway 75, according to Darwin Bishop, engineer with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Completion is scheduled for the end of June on both projects.
On the bridge northeast of the wastewater treatment plant, work will involve repairing the bridge over the Floyd River. The southbound bridge will be repaired in stages with a 10'6" lane open to southbound traffic at all times. Both northbound lanes will remain open to traffic.
Cramer & Associates of Des Moines is the contractor for the $210,900 project.
Cramer's crews will also start on the bridge north of Merrill this week. A 10'6" lane north and south will be open at all times on the $195,400 project.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to obey posted signs in the construction areas.
