Sarah Mohning, formerly of Remsen, and Jamie Ham, formerly of Osage, were united in marriage Sept. 6, 2003, in a garden wedding at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Robert Melhorn of the United Church of Christ of Osage, officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Dean and Linda Mohning of Remsen and Steve and Janet Ham of Osage.

Doug Davidson served as scripture reader. Vocalist was Jean Johnson, cousin of the bride. A string quartet from Le Mars Community School under direction of Ted Hallberg, provided nuptial music.

Attending the bride were Rachel Doty, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, with Julia Martin, Angie Gengler and Holly Counsell, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids. Flowergirl was Taylor Doty, niece of the bride.

Bob Muller was best man with Richard Wilson, Frank Kisley and Jeremy Ham, brother of the bridegroom, as groomsmen. Rhett Ham, nephew of the bridegroom, was ringbearer.

Seating the guests were Mark Mohning, Thad Doty, Jeff Olson and Matt Counsell.

The wedding reception, dinner and dance were held at the WIT Convention Center in Cherokee following the ceremony.

Sarah, a 1995 graduate of Remsen-Union High School, and a 1999 graduate of Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Mich., is currently teaching English in the Northwood-Kensett School District.

Jamie graduated from Osage in 1994, and Iowa State University in 1999. He is employed by the Lake Mills High School as the FFA director, agriculture teacher and wrestling coach.

The couple is at home in Lake Mills. A summer wedding trip is being planned.
