Neal Briggs Gordon, 39, died at his home in the Philadelphia, Pa., area Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Neal was a 1982 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a graduate the University of Iowa. He earned a master's degree from Temple University. He was a teacher at Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia.
His interests included writing, reading, traveling, cooking, car restoration, carpentry, biking, mountain climbing, and scuba diving.
Neal is survived by his wife Allison Vail Gordon; his parents, John Gordon of Rowley, Mass., and Pat Gordon of Iowa City. He is also survived by his siblings, Randy Gordon and wife, Mary, of Des Moines, Mary Gordon and husband, David Ramirez, of Philadelphia, Martha Gordon and husband, Frank Gersh, of Iowa City, and Carol Gordon Warmbier and husband, Terry, of LuVerne. Neal will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 10, 2004, at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
