Theresa "Terry" A. Grosenheider, 55, of Le Mars, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Theresa A. McNamara was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Sioux City, the daughter of Raymond and Arlene (Denlinger) McNamara. Theresa was baptized in the Catholic faith in Sioux City. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1967. Terry was united in marriage to Kenneth Grosenheider on Aug. 31, 1968, at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Ireton for many years.
Terry enjoyed staying home to care for children. Terry was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Craig. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. Terry's greatest passion in life was her children.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Steve Westhoff of Le Mars; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Sherrie Grosenheider of Ireton; her mother, Arlene McNamara of Sioux City; eight brothers and sisters, Sharon Leuenhagen of Sioux City, Rae Marie Pendergast of South Sioux City, Neb., Bob McNamara of Sioux City, Mary and her husband, Michael Nearman of Alpharetta, Ga., Joseph and his wife Vicky McNamara of Sioux City, Ed and his wife, Louann McNamara of Jefferson, S.D., Donna and her husband, Rusty Giffrow of Sioux City, and Alicia and her husband, Dave Johnson of Sioux City; a dear friend, Joyce Renken of Le Mars; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Terry was preceded in death by her father, Raymond McNamara; a brother in infancy, Merlin McNamara; and her husband, Kenneth on Feb. 9, 1994.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig, with the Rev. Pete Petersen officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitations will be after 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitations will continue Thursday afternoon at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Lori Westhoff, Steve Westhoff, Chris Grosenheider, Bobbie Jo Borchers, Shelia Herfel, Michael Pendergast, and Jeff Hefel.
