Caroline Ruden and Todd Hanson of Brandon, S.D., exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 23, 2003, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Jim Tigges officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents are Joe and Bonnie Ruden and Wendell and Fran Hanson, all of Le Mars.

Lectors were Stacy Rooney and Jes Rooney of Minneapolis. Lighting the candles were Emma Rose Schumacher of Longmont, Colo., and Zachary Hanson of Le Mars.

Providing nuptial music were soloist Emily Faber of Le Mars as vocalist accompanied at the organ by Mary Ann List of Le Mars.

Attending the bride were Lauri Freking of West Des Moines as matron of honor, with Stephanie Hanson of Brandon, and the bride's three sisters, Bridget Schumacher of Longmont, Colo., Barb Utesch of Ames and Roxanne Ruden of Des Moines, as bridesmaids.

Madison Hanson of College Station, Texas, was flowergirl. Ringbearer was Caleb Utesch of Ames.

Best man was Steve Freking of West Des Moines with Bryce Jester of Hartford, S.D., Craig Lundy of Ketchikan, Alaska, Scott Bixenman of Le Mars and Matt Hanson of Johnston, as groomsmen.

Jay Hanson of Le Mars, Chris Hanson of College Station, Ryan Snell of Le Mars and Brad Kohlmeyer of Lisle, Ill., seated the guests.

The reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Le Mars Knights of Columbus Hall for 250 guests.

Caroline is a graduate of Le Mars Community High School and Iowa State University in Ames where she earned a degree in journalism. Todd also graduated from LCHS and from American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Both are employed with Wells Fargo in Education Financial Services in Sioux Falls.

Following their wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is at home in Brandon.
