ZELLWOOD, Fla. -- Mark T. Kreitzinger, 60, of Zellwood, Fla., died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
Mark Thomas Kreitzinger was born Feb. 24, 1943, in Sioux City, the son of Robert and Ruth (Nelson) Kreitzinger. Mark was united in marriage to Marilyn Nannen on Dec. 11, 1966, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron. Marked served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Navy where he earned the rank of chief quarter master. He also worked for several years as a merchant marine. Mark had been a volunteer firefighter for several years and was an instructor with the Florida Fire College Institute.
Mark was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Philip Lutheran Church in Dora, Fla.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Marilyn (Nannen) Kreitzinger of Zellwood, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marlo Kreitzinger of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Tom Nicholas of Fairmont, W.V.; three grandchildren, Jordan, Gabrielle and Thomas Nicholas; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Beverly Kreitzinger of Des Moines.; two sisters, Norberta Mead and Ruth Servine both of Spokane, Wash.; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chris Kreitzinger.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township, rural Akron, with the Rev. William Kallestad officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post #241 of Le Mars. Visitations with the family present will be after 7:30 p.m. today (Friday) at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
