Child car seats made safer

Friday, October 11, 2002

Nine out of 10 car seats in Iowa are not used correctly for safe travel by children.

Families who have children in their vehicles can get help making sure the car seat will let a child travel safely. From 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, families can take their child in the seat to Nuebel Chevrolet, Inc., on U.S. Highway 75 South in Le Mars for a child safety check. The Le Mars Police Department will be working with Siouxland Paramedics, the Siouxland District Health Department and the Woodbury County SAFE KIDS Coalition to check each seat and make sure they are installed and adjusted correctly for the child.
