(05/07/08)The Hinton boys' golf dynasty took a minor stumble on Tuesday afternoon when they finished third in the War Eagle Conference Golf Tournament at Akron. After winning the tournament for the past three years, the Blackhawks shot an impressive 163 but still fell to eventual champion Unity Christian, who shot a 153, and finished five strokes behind regular season WEC champs South O'Brien. (05/06/08) Emily Plantz shot a team-best 119 to lead Le Mars' girls' golf team to an eighth-place finish on Monday afternoon at Okoboji View Golf Course. The Bulldogs finished with a team total of 487, edging out Hull Western Christian's 492. Spirit Lake won the dual with a 377 and beat second-place finisher Spencer who had a team score of 387. Emmetsburg had a 403 to finish in third... 
Hinton cops another WEC title

(05/05/08) Heading into the final Maple Valley Conference golf meet tonight, hopes are high for Remsen-Union and Gina Mae Frericks. The junior sits just four strokes behind West Monona's Cassie Stukenholtz, the conference's leading golfer. The two have matched up very evenly this season, as Stukenholtz won the first place medal at three of the four meets and Frericks has been runner-up each week. With each of their highest scores dropped, Stukenholtz leads with a 128 and Frericks trails her with a 132...
