K-9 cop: Le Mars Police dog sniffs out success (04/26/11)
Even though Pike, a German shepherd, lives and spends most his time with Le Mars Police Officer Mark Reed, Pike is not like other families' dogs. "He's never just a pet. He's my partner," Reed said. Siouxland Aging Services: Helping seniors at home saves dollars (04/26/11)
A Senior Care Expo, hosted by Siouxland Aging Services, Inc., will be held on Saturday, May 21, at Stoney Creek Inn and Conference Center, 300 Third St., Sioux City. The free event will have valuable information for seniors, families and neighbors who want to know about resources available for their loved ones. Doors are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In conjunction with the expo, a Wellness Walk is planned for 9:30 a.m. Walkers may register between 9 and 9:20 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, "Shredtastic" will also take place in the parking lot of the conference center. Each senior is invited to dispose of up to two boxes of outdated personal papers.
