Despite having warmer weather than the two previous cross country meets, the heat didn't seem to affect Gehlen Catholic's Jordan Freking as he posted his second consecutive top-five finish on Tuesday afternoon at the Woodbury Central meet. Arden "Lefty" Anderson, 78, of Le Mars, died on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Arden Roy "Lefty" Anderson was born on March 25, 1930 in rural Spink, South Dakota, the son of Ed and Martha (Carlson) Anderson. He moved to the Le Mars, Iowa area as a young boy. Growing up, there were countless times when I was told to "act my age" by my parents. My mother used that phrase, the Chief was more fond of "who's the baby around here?"
