LCS purchases Wells' Dairy's former corporate headquarters (10/09/07)
The Le Mars Community School Board at their regular meeting Monday, Oct. 8, voted to approve the purchase of Wells' Dairy, Inc.'s former headquarters facility located at 940 Lincoln Street S.W. for the purchase price of $375,000. The asking price for the building was $500,000 with Wells' Dairy providing the district with a charitable contribution of $125,000 to purchase the facility...

On a night when Unity Christian dominated both the boys' and girls' races, area teams Gehlen Catholic and Remsen St. Mary's managed a handful of highlights at the War Eagle Conference cross country meet in Hawarden. The best race for an area runner belonged to Gehlen's Jordan Freking, who placed sixth in a time of 18:05. It was not Freking's best time of the season - and one he was not pleased with - but it did earn him all-conference honors in a loaded field...
Freking takes West Sioux XC title (10/09/07)
Gehlen's Jordan Freking has been running strong all season and he put an exclamation mark on his campaign with a first place showing at the West Sioux cross country meet Friday. Panthers, Rockets run at Maple Valley meet (10/09/07)
Both the Kingsley-Pierson and Remsen-Union cross country teams ran in the Maple Valley Conference meet Monday, getting a start to their postseason meets. Banking on youth? (10/09/07)
There's polling data out this week that shows the national race for the Democratic and Republican nominations for president are becoming more clear, while in Iowa the races are becoming a statistical dead heat. Polling done for the Des Moines Register of people that said they were definitely or very likely to attend the Iowa Caucuses shows that among Democrats, Hillary Clinton leads with 29 percent, followed closely by John Edwards at 23 percent and Barack Obama at 22 percent, making the race a statistical dead heat. ...
