The rain drain: City feels pinch with drainage issues (10/01/07)
Some of the city's storm sewer drainage is behind the times, according to City Engineer Scott Langel, and other parts of it need a boost. To help cover the cost of fixing the problems, city staff is recommending a $2 increase in the monthly storm sewer fee -- bringing it to $4 a month. Le Mars woman killed in two-vehicle crash near Struble (10/01/07)
A Le Mars woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Struble Thursday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol reports that Marilyn Utesch, 64, was pronounced dead at Floyd Valley Hospital. According to the state patrol, Utesch was westbound on 120th Street in a 2004 Chevy Silverado. Daniel Morgado, 19, Le Mars, was southbound on Keystone Avenue in a 1998 Dodge Caravan.
