Fire investigated in rural Remsen (09/16/02)
No one was injured in a garage fire which also involved part of a house in rural Remsen early Saturday morning. Garry Ward, 45346 230th St., called the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office at 2:12 a.m., alerting the Remsen Fire Department to the garage on fire at his residence. Floyd Valley Hospital staff members were surprised by how much money they were able to raise for a medical clinic in a Honduran village, where some Le Mars area residents have visited. Employees of nine other businesses volunteered to participate in a Friday the 13th Denim Day, reported Ann Cole-Nelson, FVH endowment director.
