Not every hero wears a cape

(Sentinel Photos by Kim Fickett) The Le Mars Fire and Rescue Department held its annual pancake breakfast last Sunday in recognition of Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6-12. The department’s firefighters were on hand serving up flapjacks, sausage, coffee, juice and milk. According to Le Mars Fire and Rescue Chief David Schipper, 640 people attended this year’s open house making it the largest to date.
