MMCRU Middle School Service Day

On Thursday, April 18, 2019, MMCRU Middle School Student Council members participated in an all day Service Day for residents of Remsen. The Student Council Community Service Committee came up with the idea of finding residents around town who needed a little extra help cleaning up this spring. They then created a flyer to post around town and on the school Facebook page asking for people to call in and sign up. The response was amazing! The 39 Student Council members raked leaves, picked up sticks, cleaned up trash, and hauled several loads to the city lawn and leaf site. They set out from school at 8:30 a.m. and returned around 3:00 p.m., after cleaning up 12 yards around town. The students worked hard, got a little wet, and had a lot of fun helping out the wonderful community of Remsen. They are already looking forward to helping others next year. Thank you to all who called in and signed up, giving these students the opportunity to serve.
