A fond farewell for the assistant chief

After 40 years of service in law enforcement, Le Mars Police Departmentís Assistant Chief Jay King celebrated his retirement, Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. Friends, family, and coworkers gathered at the new LPD station to reminisce Kingís career. They offered their congratulations as the retiring D.A.R.E. officer and assistant chief was presented the Distinguished Police Service Award as well as a LPD commemorative plaque.
